Contemporary jewellery designer Michele White has been based in the area for 30 years. She therefore understands the expense involved in setting up as a designer maker.

‘I wanted to create a space where new start-ups could thrive.’

That’s why her business Artisan Alchemy Gallery features workshop space to rent! Michele wants to support jewellers and designer-makers just starting out. So an area of the ground floor has been designed with a communal bench and individual workshops. There’s all the prestige of a Jewellery Quarter address.  Most of all, you’ll enjoy a convenient city centre location.

Dovile Kondrasovaite rents bench space from the Gallery in the dedicated workshop and communal bench area.

‘I’m here most days and fit my designing around teaching classes in the Jewellery Quarter. I make contemporary jewellery, a lot of it in bog oak and amber. I’ve been based here for three years and it’s great!

‘I like the location because I can go to St Paul’s Square for lunch, and there’s a little courtyard down by the workshops. It gives the place quite a European flavour.’
