Designer makers of Jewellery Quarter at international show

Michele White is one of four Jewellery Quarter designer makers chosen to represent Birmingham at a new event uniting creative talent from around the world.

Top designer makers from the JQ will exhibit this weekend at Makers Central, a new international show at the NEC and probably one of the biggest of the year.

Designer makers converge

Designer makers will gather for a weekend of creativity while sharing ideas, products, techniques and tools.

Visitors can enjoy workshops and demonstrations, in addition to activities for kids and hands-on classes. The aim of the weekend is to share knowledge and skills, and most of all to have fun!

Michele White said: ‘It’s exciting to think just how many likeminded people will be together sharing ideas. We hope to do the Jewellery Quarter proud by representing the vibrant community we have in the district.’

Representing the JQ

Luke Crane, JQBID Director, said: ‘It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to reach such a broad audience. We’ll be educating visitors and fellow exhibitors about the Jewellery Quarter.’

‘The area is renowned for its highly skilled craftspeople and extensive network of supporting industries. Events like this enable us to showcase the breadth of the creative maker community we have.’

Earlier this year Jewellery Quarter makers were invited to participate in the event and as a result, JQBID selected four makers. Their skills and expertise will be especially relevant this weekend!

Visit Makers Central in Hall 7 stand E40 & F41 on 5 – 6 May from 10am – 6pm. Child and adult tickets available, and also family tickets. The show is another great reason to support JQ businesses in addition to enjoying a fun family day out!
